Welcome to The University of Texas at Austin!

We are the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs, and we are here to help you reach your career and professional goals, to advocate for issues that may affect your stay at UT Austin or your professional development, and to foster a community for postdoctoral scholars. UT Austin is committed to excellence in research and education, and we recognize the critical contributions postdoctoral scholars make to the university’s community through the generation of new ideas, sharing of knowledge, and mentorship of future researchers.

If you are a new postdoc at UT Austin, please make sure to complete these actions for your onboarding and orientation requirements.

1. UT Austin Human Resources New Employee Orientation

Please contact your department’s Human Resource staff. They will assist you in getting your UT ID card and registering for the UT’s New Employee Orientation. We strongly encourage new Postdoctoral Fellows to review the Postdoctoral Handbook and to attend the New Employee Welcome and Orientation conducted by Human Resources which provides an introduction to the university's culture, values, history, services, resources and benefits, including insurance and retirement programs in which eligible employees may enroll.
