International Scholar Travel

Global Risk and Safety

Global Risk and Safety monitors worldwide travel and provides safety resources to assist students, faculty and staff, including postdocs, on official university travel. Traveling on university business includes approved participation in conferences and seminars and/or conducting approved research abroad.

International Travel Process

Please familiarize yourself with the university’s International Travel Process. All UT Austin students and employees (including postdocs) are required by the UT System to register their international travel, regardless of destination.

All employees must register through the UT Austin International Travel Registry.

The steps on this page must be completed prior to departure. This process is the same regardless of whether the travel is funded by UT Austin or not.
