As part of the Office of Career and Life Design's ongoing efforts to develop holistic career support, we will be offering a Lunch & Workshop Series this Spring semester for hopeful/soon-to-be/already-parents/caregivers who are graduate students and postdocs.
Join us for a focused discussion on how the Graduate School can better support graduate and post-doc parenting students. This meeting will explore critical questions such as:
Where do parenting students need additional support?
What can we realistically expect from the Graduate School?
Invited speakers from the Graduate School will provide valuable insights and engage in a conversation about resources and initiatives to enhance the experience of student parents.
We welcome parents and caregivers at all stages: on a pregnancy journey, navigating the adoption process, have dealt with loss, or are currently parenting children of any age!
If you are interested in meeting other parents and learning about resources available to you, please sign up for the series here!
Lunch will be provided.
Tess Blumenthal and SeongGyeong Park are facilitating this workshop series! Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions that you may have!

Come ride with ISSS! Review important notes below.
A Texas Global/UT Austin staff member will lead a short ride (approximately 4 miles each way) from the Texas Global offices to the Mueller Farmer's Market. The ride will primarily be on low-traffic neighborhood roads using dedicated bike lanes. Your guide will answer any questions you may have about bike law and safely using bike lanes before the ride begins.
Water bottles and bike locks are strongly recommended. Also note that Texas weather in March can be unpredictable, so we recommend bringing a backpack or bike bag/basket to add and remove layers of clothing as needed, and also to carry any goodies from the Farmer's Market!
Important Notes:
Helmets are required and all participants will be required to sign a liability waiver.
Texas Global CANNOT provide bikes for student use, so you will need your own bike or a rental to participate.
UT's own Orange Bike Project offers student rentals for single day, weekend, or the entire semester at very reasonable prices.
